There is an immediate need to provide schools, health centers and toilets for people living in Makoko Community Area of Lagos.

This has been identified as parts of actualization plans towards the regeneration of Makoko -Iwaya Waterfront.

The Social and Economic Rights Action Center SERAC, through it's director Felix Morka made the call to the Lagos State Government during the tour of the community.

Meanwhile If all things go as planned, the Lagos State House of Assembly would soon pass a bill which the government says would give direction to the state’s dream of becoming Africa’s greenest city.

The bill, among others, is aimed at opening the door to foreign and domestic investors in the management of waste and the environment.

But the private sector participation, PSP operators, have a problem with this.
