The House of Representatives Committee on oil prospecting licences, and oil mining leases has given the Central Bank of Nigeria, one week to provide all relevant documents to ascertain the payment of N22.6 billion  for oil blocs.
The sum is made up of application fees, royalties, signature bonus and other fees by oil companies.
Last week the committee summoned the Accountant General of the Federation Ahmed Idris, the Department of Petroleum Resources, Petroleum Trust Fund and the Nigeria Petroleum Development Corporation
In another development, Nigeria’s Fatimah Mohammed has lost the election for the position of African Union Commissioner for Peace and Security in Addis Ababa.
She was defeated by the incumbent, Smail Chergui of Algeria.
The election was held on Monday at the 28th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
But Chad’s Foreign Minister Moussa Faki was elected Chairman of the African Union Commission.
