The House of Representatives is set to amend the act governing the Financial Reporting Council which approved 20 years tenure in office for heads of non-profit organizations including churches and mosques.

This followed a motion sponsored by the House minority leader Leo Ogor who accused the former Executive-Secretary of the council, Jim Obazee of acting in an “over-zealous” manner.

Obazee's action made the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to retire and announced a new General Overseer for Nigeria, Pastor Joseph Obayemi.

In another development, the Federal Executive Council has approved N1.743 billion  for completion of the water supply project in Sabke Dam in Katsina State
The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, said the council considered memo for the upgrade of some software for the operations of National Pension Commission and memo to provide information system for the mining sector
The minister also disclosed that he inherited 117 ongoing and abandoned projects when he assumed office in November 2015.
