President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has held a private meeting with a factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu-Sheriff.

The meeting, which lasted for a little over 20 minutes, was held within the International Conference Centre Complex, Abuja, yesterday.

Although details of the meeting were not made public,  the Special Assistant to the senate president on Print media, Chucks Okocha, said it had nothing to do with politics.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission, will soon digitize the process of registration, transfer or relocation of permanent voter cards.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced this at a media  briefing in Abuja.

He lamented the low rate of PVC collection across the country, attributing it to the fact that the cards were largely needs-driven.

He said the monthly returns from the commission’s state offices were not encouraging.

According to the INEC boss,  in some areas, only a paltry 30 pieces of PVCs were collected, out of about 400, 000..
