A Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to unfreeze the bank accounts of the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.
The presiding judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo ruled that the EFCC has no legal power to freeze the governor’s accounts as the governor enjoys immunity.
Speaking after the judgement, Governor Fayose expressed joy on the ruling, saying the landmark judgement would halt the politically induced actions of the EFCC.

The commission directed Zenith Bank early this year to freeze the governor's account over allegation of money laundering.
