The Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris has warned police officers and other security agents not to accompany any politician or important personalities to polling units during Saturday's rerun legislative election in Rivers State.
The police IG issued the warning while addressing officers and men of the police and other security agents in Port-Harcourt.
In another development, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has sanctioned the Transmission Company of Nigeria with a charge to pay about N47 million  for alleged failure to submit its 2013 and 2014 audited financial statements.  
Acting Chairman of the commission Dr. Anthony Akah, gave the TCN up to two weeks to pay the fine beginning from December 2016.
The fine according to the commission attracts five per cent interest daily after the due date.
