Nigeria Police says it has deployed 28, 000 Policemen, six police commissioners, three helicopters and 350 hilux vehicles amongst others  in Rivers State for Saturdays  rerun elections.
 
Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris announced this yesterday in Port Harcourt at a stakeholders meeting put together by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
 
Idris alsoconfirmed his directive to re-deploy the Chief Security Officer to the Governor of Rivers State, Promise Nwosu over allegations of gross professional misconduct.
 
Statement from the Force Headquarters said DSP Nwosu was redeployed for openly participating in a rally by an opposition party in Rivers State. 
 
The statement accused the former the CSO of partisanship and acting in a manner prejudicial to discipline and displaying conduct unexpected of an officer of his calibre and office.
 
It however stated that the governor as chief security officer of the state is at liberty to select any officer of his choice from the strength of the police command in the state.
