Obafemi Martins, the Former Super Eagles striker has prolonged his contract with the Chinese Super League Club Shanghai Shenhua.

The former Inter Milan, Newcastle United and Wolfsburg Star first penned a one-season deal with the Gregorio Manzano- led side,but will now stay with the club until the end of 2017 season based on the new agreement.

Obafemi Martins had averaged 0.5 goals per game (15 goals in 30 appearances) in this present season, and this led to the extension of his one year contract deal with the Chinese Super League Club Shanghai Shenhua.

Martins has also represented Birmingham City, Rubin Kazan, Seattle Sounders and Leavante UD.

The 32-year-old will pocket $9 million in wages (equivalent of N4.1 billion) in the new deal that he signed, $2.4 million more than he was paid in his last deal.
