The Federal Government has no intention of forcing anyone to surrender one inch of land for grazing reserves but will work with states that are willing to develop ranches in their domains.

Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbe made the clarification yesterday as he spoke to newsmen at state house Abuja after a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

The bill on grazing reserves has passed second reading at the House of Representatves and its firts reading at the senate.

It became so imperative, following incessant killing of farmers by Fulani herdsmen across the country.

Some State Governments had vehemently opposed to the bill, calling on the federal government to create ranches for cattle instead of legalising grazing across the country.
