Most public schools yesterday failed to open against the order of the Oyo State Government  that the schools be re-opened for academic work .

The schools were shut last month following the engagements of some students in anti-government protest.

Our correspondent Tade Oludayo who visited some of the schools in Ibadan reports that students and their teachers did not show up at their various schools.

Also workers of the Jos University Teaching Hospital have embarked on a sit-at-work strike to protest the non payment of their June salaries.

The workers reported at their duty posts but merely sat down and did not attend to patients.

They vowed to continue with the strike until their salaries are paid.
