The Natioal Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN have suspended their planned strike action which was meant to kick off yesterday.
The unions say they suspended the strike in order to attend a meeting with the Federal Government on Monday
The South West Chairman, of NUPENG Alhaji Tokunbo Korodo said the union did so to have a meeting with the Federal Governmrnt.
“As a result of this, we have to put the strike which is supposed to commence (Thursday) on hold to allow for useful deliberations with the government representatives,” he said.
Outcome of the meeting will determine whether they will still proceed with the strike action or not.
