The Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH on its second outing has successively performed  seven open heart surgeries  in three days bringing it to a total of 10.

Under the LUTH cardiac project which started in 2014, the hospital management says it intends to treat 100 people in the next one year.

The Chief medical Director, Professor Chris Bode, said this on Thursday, adding that the whole aim is not to make money but to save Nigeria from the rising number of capital flights for medical treatment abroad as well as ensure that  people are treated in their home and by their own people.

“We will ensure it becomes a routine and no more news. This is a promise we intend to keep.” he stated.
