No fewer than six persons have been killed in a clash between two rival cult groups in Omoku Area of Rivers State on Friday.

The Rivers State Police Command who confirmed the incident attributed the clash to supremacy between rival cult groups in the town.

According to DSP Ahmad Muhammad, Public Relations Officer of the command the situation has been brought under control, with more anti-riot policemen drafted to reinforce the existing security in the town.

“As for casualties, six deaths of the suspected cultists were recorded,” he said.
A resident of Omoku town, who did not want his name mentioned, said that among those killed were husband and wife, two brothers of same parents.
