The rerun gubernatorial election going on in Ijaw South of Bayelsa State is facing daunting challenges of ballot snatching, shooting and impersonation.

Earlier in the morning, some political thugs invaded a polling unit at Oguta-Otuopoti and snatched election materials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials in the area.

At Famgbe, Yenagoa, security agents arrested a fake official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) while there were reported cases of shooting at some polling units.
When interrogated, the fake INEC official said he was hired to help rig the election in the area.

He reportedly made confessional statement indicting some government officials.
However, the ballot snatchers had been apprehended and the materials were later retrieved from the river.
