Manchester City on Tuesday started the defence of their title defeating Crvena Zvezda 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

City player, as Julian Alvarez scored twice to spearhead a second-half comeback.

It was a competitive game for the Champions as the Crvena Zvezda, Serbian champions took a shock lead on the stroke of half-time when Osman Bukari’s strike was allowed to stand after a VAR review for offside (45).

Alvarez scored his second goal while Rodri found the back of the net with the third and winning goal, extending City’s unbeaten run at home in the Champions League to 27 matches.
