Miffed by the Super Falcons’ ouster from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) would soon begin its inquest into women’s football in order to curtail its free fall.
On Monday, the nine-time African champions were shown the exit from the quadrennial event by the Les Elephantes of Cote d’Ivoire but NFF’s Head of Technical Department Bitrus Bewarang has hinted about some radical changes
The former Super Eagles’ assistant coach described the Falcons ouster from the Olympic Games for the third successive times as another dark moment in the history of Nigerian Football.
Bewarang has revealed that the NFF is currently working on series of proposals to reposition female football in the country by introducing several local competitions to discover talents at the grassroots.
He added that all the women’s national teams will be restructured and assigned with experienced coaches in women football to redirect the team for greater performance.
