Alex Iwobi completed a transfer deadline day move from Arsenal to Everton and has since admitted that he made the switch to ‘make a name for himself in the Premier League’.

Iwobi joined Everton on a five-year deal worth £35million after returning from the African Cup of Nations where he represented his nation, Nigeria.

Iwobi joined Arsenal in 2004 at the age of eight and made his debut while still a teenager in 2015. His first Premier League start in March 2016, came against Everton in a match he actually scored.

In an interview with Everton TV, Iwobi revealed why he ditched Arsenal for Everton, “The offer was too attractive for me to turn down. The manager was telling me: ‘There is a spot for you, we will take care of you’. Basically, all the things you want to hear as a player.
