Arsenal have completed the loan signing of midfielder Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.

The the 22-year-old will be moving to London for the 2019-20 season.

Ceballos, who has been on holiday after helping Spain’s Under-21 side to the European Championship title last month, is expected to make his debut at the upcoming Emirates Cup. We will wear the No8 shirt vacated by Aaron Ramsey.

Ceballos, who joined Madrid from Real Betis in 2017, has opted to go out on loan as he still believes he can make his Real career a success in future.

Tottenham showed interest in signing the midfielder but pulled out after Madrid rejected an option to buy, leaving Arsenal free to sign Ceballos and link up with compatriot Unai Emery in north London.

Emery said: “We’re excited to see Dani join us. He is a talented player with big technical ability, creativity and precision.”

Ceballos said: “I knew I had the confidence of the coach, which was very important for me from the start.

“I was aware of the responsibility that wearing this shirt entails and it was a tremendously proud moment when I decided to join Arsenal.

“The coach was the turning point in terms of me joining this massive club. He’s a Spanish coach and he knows me from my time at other clubs.”
