Italian striker, Mario Balotelli has agreed to join Olympique Marseille on a deal that will run for the rest of the season.
The striker joins the club from OGC Nice after impressing for the French side for the past two seasons.
After failing to complete a move to Marseille during the summer, Balotelli fell down the pecking order at Nice and he leaves the club without scoring a goal this season.
Balotelli has now joined Marseille on a six-month contract for a reported €3m fee after his contract at Nice was terminated by mutual consent.
The former Manchester City and Internazionale striker could play his first game for his new club on Friday when OSC Lille will visit the Velodrome in the Ligue 1.
Marseille is welcoming a goal scorer to their squad as Rudi Garcia’s side has been struggling to find the net this season.
The club hoped to fight for a spot in next year’s Champions League, but have found themselves outside of the top three for the entire season.
With the signing of Balotelli, Marseille hopes to climb up the table from their current seventh position
