Kenya’s former four hundred metres hurdles world champion, Nicholas Bett killed in a car crash earlier today.

Bett had just returned from the Africa Championships in Nigeria when he died in Nandi, north west Kenya.

Kenya’s sports minister, Rashid Echesa sent his condolences to Bert’s family, after Kenya Athletics confirmed the athlete’s death on Twitter.

Twenty-eight-year-old made history in Twenty fifteen in China by becoming the first Kenyan to win a world gold at a distance shorter than eight hundred metres.
