Two gold medals on the closing day of the Twenty eighteen Africa Athletics Championship in Asaba, Delta State helped host, Nigeria finish third in a field of fifty two nations.

Grace Agbata won gold in the Women’s Triple Jump, Women’s Four hundred metres hurdles with another gold coming from the women in the Four by four hundred metres relay ensured Team Nigeria finisher with nine gold, five silver and five bronze medals.

Glory Nathaniel won the quarter mile gold, Divine Oduduru could only settle for silver in the men’s 200m, while our men’s 4×400m relay quartet also won bronze on the final day.

Kenya topped the medals table with eleven gold, six silver and two bronze ahead of South Africa with nine gold, thirteen silver and eight bronze medals.
