D’Tigers on Sunday came second at the PEAK International Invitational tournament in China.

Nigeria beat Iran 73-72 in the semifinals but lost to the United States 93-78 in the final in the competition tagged Atlas Basketball Challenge.

In their group games, D’Tigers beat Czech Republic 77-71 and Germany 77-70. They lost 88-81 to China.

Nigeria coach Alex Nwora rested some key players as he tested new players for the team.

The team had six players at the beginning of the tournament and later 11 before the end of the competition.

Agada Caleb (Spain), Omoerah Keith (Norway), Braxton Ogbueze (Charlotte, USA), Tosin Mehinti (Greece), Okosun Augustine (the Dominican Republic), and Obekpa Christopher (Turkey), who all made the roster for the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in February and June represented Nigeria.

Others are Ogundiran Jordan (Pomona, USA), Edogi Andrew (New Rochelle, New York, USA), Vincent Gabriel (Santa Barbara, USA), Toluwase Samuel (United Kingdom) and Adegoko Abiodun (Macedonia), who were recently added for the invitational tournament.
