Nigerian international kelechi nwankali has signed a one year loan deal with FC Porto of Portugal from Arsenal of England after having his medical in Lisbon on Tuesday.

The attacking midfielder who last played for Dutch side VVV Venlo and MVV Maastricht said he sees the Porto move as a new challenge.

He said the move to Portugal will give him a chance to play regular football which will aid his improvement as a footballer.

He said as a young player he must endeavor to adapt to any situation he find himself in his bid to become a world class player.

Kelechi revealed that the weather in Portugal brings him closer home because its warm and humid like the prevalent weather in Africa.

The former junior international who still have a three year deal with Arsenal said he wants to prove himself in Portugal and become an influential player in the Portuguese league.

He stated that FC Porto is a competitive team who always feature in the UEFA champions league and encourage youngsters to blossom.

He said he is already settling down to life in Lisbon, because he is getting so much support and encouragement from his Super Eagles colleague Chidozie Awaziem.

The former Flying Eagles captain said France’s victory in Russia shows that African teams can win the world cup if they start preparing for the 2022 edition as soon as possible.

He said African teams must endeavour to be physically and psychologically prepared and take the game one after the other.
