Commuters Stranded As Trucks Fall On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Thousands of commuters were stranded early Wednesday when two articulated vehicles fell on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident occured at New Garage, Berger Bus Stop, throwing the entire stretch of the long bridge into heavy traffic.
It was a standstill vehicular traffic that began by 5am and persisted for hours.
Passengers had to come down from buses to trek while many joined the commercial motorcycle to get to their various destinations.
Expectedly, the cost of transportation arbitrarily increased by 500 per cent.
Transport fare between Magboro and Berger now costs N500 instead of N100 while Okada operators charge between N1000 and N1500 for a journey of 20 minutes.
Commuters are also stranded at the BRT bus stop as no vehicle arrived to convey them due to heavy traffic.
