…., Dismisses 600 Staff

The Governing Council of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has approved the dismissal of a Lecturer, Olaleye Aduwo for sexually harassing a female student and over 600 of its staff over alleged irregular employment.

Mr Aduwo, a Lecturer 1 in the Department of Accounting was found culpable of sexually harassing a female student of his Department.

In a communique by the University Governing Council, at the end of its 135th meeting held on Thursday approved the recommendations of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee (Academic) that recommended the dismissal of the lecturer, from the services of the University with effect from 7th October, 2019.

The lecturer was captured in a video that went viral few months ago being molested for sexually harassing a female student.

He had earlier admitted to the allegations and confirmed the authenticity of the report of the preliminary panels before which he appeared.

Also the University confirmed the sack of over 600 members of staff over alleged irregular employment, overage and sundry other allegations.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun, said the decision of the university council followed adoption on Thursday of the audit report carried out by a group of external auditors.
