The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu on Tuesday says the force is encumbered by inferior fire power to face bandits and terrorists.

He stated that the force needs funding to get adequate technology to tame crime and criminality.

IGP Adamu stated this while delivering ‘Town Talk’ lecture at the University of Ibadan organised by the Alumni Association.

The IGP who was represented by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Peter Babatunde advised Nigerians not to lure people to commit crimes.

He hinted that while police use AK-47 riffles, bandits, insurgents and kidnappers use Rocket launchers, Greenades, and other superior weapons.

According to him, technology deployment in crime fighting will ensure that criminals are prevented from carrying out their activities.
