Part of Katangwa Market, Abule Egba Lagos has been set on fire. It was gathered that some hoodlums set the market on fire during a clash between Yoruba and Hausa ethnic groups at the market on Sunday.
The clothes and jeans section of the market predominantly occupied by Yoruba and Igbo traders was mostly affected.
According to eyewitness account the act of arson perpetrated by the Hausa faction of the market was a reprisal attack on the Yoruba faction which they claimed destroyed their goods in yesterday’s fracas.
No life was lost and no injury was recorded in the incident . It should be noted that Men of the LASEMA Response Team(Dolphin) and officials of the Lagos State Government Fire Service responded promptly to put out the fire.
