To enforce the Proscription of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) by the Federal Government, the Inspector General of Police has ordered his men to clampdown and treat any one advancing the interest of the Islamic Group as terrorist and enemy of the state

The Police authority also accused the Islamic Movement of pledging loyalty to a foreign nation and working towards an agenda to create an Islamic State in Nigeria.

The activities of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria on Tuesday came to the fore at the Force Headquarters one week after the murder of the Deputy Commissioner of Umar Usman and Youth Corps Member, Precious Owolabi by suspected Shiite members in Abuja

At a meeting with commissioner of Police in Charge of State Commands, the Police Chief, Mohammed Adamu said the Islamic group loyal to Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky has crossed the red line by setting up a para-military guard, hosting of flags and demonstrating powers of a state authority.
