The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has rescued about 25 out of the over 100 that were trapped after a school building collapsed in Ita Faaji, Lagos Island this morning.

The state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode who arrived the scene later this afternoon said that almost all the buildings on Lagos Island would put on integrity test as he sympathized with the parents of the trapped pupils.

The governor lamented that the building fell because it was structurally defective, adding that some residents still contravened the law, despite the  efforts of the government to curb erection of illegal structure in the state.

However, Ambode called on the crowd that had gathered at the scene to allow the officials of the state LASEMA to do their rescue work.
