The Kogi State Police Command has placed ban on Public procession and rallies in the state.

Mr. Wilson, the State Commissioner of Police said this in Lokoja, the state capital during a meeting with police officers and police personnel.

“The ban is set to take place immediately,” he said.

The ban was issued due to the fracas that happened at a rally organized by Senator Dino Melaye, which sparked up the security attention in the state on June 12.

The commissioner described the situation as sad and unfortunate, even though the senator was not given permission before holding the rally .

He also added that the illegal use of sirens by motorists would not be permitted beginning from June 22.

The Governor, The Deputy Governor, Ambulances and Bullion van for the central Bank of Nigeria are exempted from the ban .
