The two German Archaeologists who were abducted in Jenjela Village in Kaduna State have been freed. Prof. Peter Breunig and Mr Johannes Behringer were released by their abductors in a village, along the Kaduna-Abuja Road on Saturday.
The archaeologists were working with Nigeria’s National Commission for Museum and Monuments at an excavation site in Southern Kaduna when they were kidnapped.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over the kidnap of two German archaeologists.
Southern Kaduna has been ravaged by communal clash between Fulani herdsmen and villagers in thelast few months.
