The Chairman, Interim Management Committee of Jema’a lga, Dr. Humble Katuka, acting on mitigating measures, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the local government, following the killing of about 20 people by Fulani herdsmen in the area at te weekend.
No less than 20 persons were killed by armed herdsmen between Saturday and Sunday, after they laid a surprise siege on Godogodo, a semi-urban settlement, in Jema’a local government area, lga, of kaduna state.
The police and escapees said Godogodo was razed with a tentative casualty figure of 20, apart from the injured.
The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Usman, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, confirmed the violence, saying at least two policemen were killed in an earlier raid near Gogogodo on Friday.
Usman said the Kaduna State Police Command had deployed more units of mobile and conventional policemen in the place.
