The Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared September 1, 2017, as Eid-el-Kabir day.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sokoto Sultanate Council Professor Sambo Junaidu.
The statement indicated that the declaration followed the sighting of the new moon of Zulhijja on Tuesday.
In another development, the monthly revenue in which the federal, states and local governments are said have shared the sum of N468 billion for July, 2017.
There is however a shortfall of N185 billion, against the N652 billion distributed in june.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mahmoud Dutse, gave the breakdown at the end of the monthly federation accounts allocation committee meeting in Abuja.
