The Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt has affirmed former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Senators Ahmed Makarfi and Ali Modu Sheriff have mounted legal challenges in determining the leadership of the PDP.
The cort also ruled that the national convention of the PDP which happened last year in Port Harcourt was of no effect.
Leaders of both factions in the past had agreed to abide by the outcome of the appeal court verdict.
Meanwhile the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has opened its defence in the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate in Edo state governorship election petitions tribunal.
The tribunal admitted in evidence the collated results for ten wards in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of the state.

Monday has been fixed for the continuation of the suit.
