Representative Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged speaker of the Ninth House of Representatives.
Gbajabiamila polled a total votes of two hundred and eighty three (283), to defeat his rival Umar Bargo from Niger State who polled seventy six (76) votes
Pro Femi supporters had started jubilation midway before the counting exercise rounded off.
This will be the first time in eight years a governing party’s preferred candidate will emerge the winner of the poll.
