A second-timer, Funminiyi Afuye, from Ikere State Constituency One has been elected the Speaker of the 6th Ekiti State House of Assembly.

Akeem Jamiu from Irepodun/Ifelodun State Constituency Two was elected the Deputy Speaker, while Gboyega Aribisogan Ikole State Constituency One emerged the Majority Leader, and Tajudeen Adegbolu from Ekiti West State Constituency One, the Deputy Majority Leader.

The State Governor, Kayode Fayemi had earlier inaugurated the 6th Assembly, with a promise not to rubber stamp the legislative arm, while he called on the Lawmakers to be good Representatives of their constituents in restoring the Ekiti values.
