The governor- elect in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu says, he will end the prolonged Apapa gridlock in the first 60 days of his administration.
Stressing on the same issue, Sanwo-Olu, he said, he is ready to deal with the actual cause of the problem, which are the trailers that are responsible for the gridlock in the area.
The resolution by the Governor-elect was made during an interactive session with his classmates on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Executive Master of Business Administration class, University of Lagos, 1998/2000 set.
According to a reliable source, his ex classmates held a Congratulatory Dinner Reception, in Sanwo-Olu’s honour at Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi.
As regards the way forward n the solution to the Apapa gridlock, the classmates of the governor elect presented a policy document containing their ideas and suggestions on what the believe the incoming governor could do to succeed as the governor of Lagos State.
During the questions and answers session, the critical questions surrounding traffic prompted that of the ‘Apapa gridlock’ situation, which involves trailers that are causing traffic problems in the Apapa area of Lagos state- Sanwo-Olu in response said he would make Apapa free of the trailers within 60 days.
Speaking emphatically on the issue, he said, “The Apapa trailer issue; it’s a campaign issue; it’s very serious; I’m going to take it very seriously.
“I believe that it is something that we are going to solve in the first 60 days of our government. Whatever is going to be required of us, we will take them out.
“There is a lot of politics being played around there. But no, it cannot be the way we’ll continue to live. We cannot continue to give excuses.”
Sanwo-Olu would be sworn-in on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, as the executive governor of Lagos State.
