The senate leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan may have got the backing of two former presidents of the senate in his race to become the next one.

Sources revealed that some state governors have also indicated their supports for Lawan to succeed the current senate president Bukola Saraki.

Recall that two other senators, Ali Ndume and Danjua Goje are also in the race but findings showed that they did not have enough supports.

It was gathered that the past senate presidents (Names withheld) threw their weight behind Lawan because of personal relationship with him and his ability to provide quality leadership.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari will be having meeting with Goje and Ndume over the NASS leadership.

The source stated that the president would explain to them the choice of Lawan by the party and why they should allow the party supremacy.
