It appears that the ruling All Progressives Congress may zone the position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to the Southeastern part of the country.

This was gathered as leaders of the party have also penciled down the Northcentral for the position in case the dialogue over who leads the ninth National Assembly is resolved.

Despite that the party had low votes from the southeast, the leadership of the APC believe that the only way to spread the appointment is to cede the SGF to the southeast.

However, the Northcentral people are also feeling alienated by the position of the party to pick President of the Senate from the Northeast and Speaker of the House of Representatives from the Southwest.

As it is now, the Northcentral is much more favoured, judging by the number of votes it gave to the APC in the last general election.
