Some senators-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress have kicked against the choice of the party on the leadership of the ninth assembly.

Some of the senators-elect who spoke on condition of anonymity bemoaned a statement credited to the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that whosoever that would not support the choice  of Senator Ahmad Lawal as the President of the senate should leave the party.

The aggrieved lawmakers said that such statement ought not to have come from a national leader of Tinubu’s status.

They said that the election of the senate president should be the primary assignment of the senators but not party affairs, adding that they would pick the right leader for themselves.

The National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole announced last week at a dinner with President Muhammadu Buhari that Ahmad Lawal had been chosen as the senate president while the Majority leader of the House of Reps, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila would be the Speaker, House of Representatives.
