A total of Seventeen Petitions arising from the General Elections conducted in Oyo State have been filed before Oyo State Election Petition Tribunal.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State Barrister Mutiu Agboke disclosed this in his welcome address at the presentation of Certificates of Return to Governor-elect, Deputy Governor-elect and Leguslator-elect ongoing at the Premier Hotel Ibadan.

According to him, there are four petitions on Senatorial election results and thirteen challenging the outcomes of the House of Representatives polls.

While congratulating those elected, Barrister Agboke admonished the elected members not to downplay the dreams, feelings and expectations of their constituencies.

The INEC resident electoral Commissioner stated that elections are designed to renew or withdraw mandates and urged those elected to note that their actions and inactions will be judged by 2023.

Out of the 32 members-elect to the state House of Assembly, 30 have fresh mandates while only two got re-elected.
