The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams has reiterated his commitment to national restructuring, saying it is the only option Nigeria needs to solve its myriads of problems.

He said this during the public presentation of two books to mark one year anniversary of his installation as the Aare Ona Kakanfo by the Allafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja on Wednesday.

Adams said, “The only way out of Nigeria problems is restructuring. It is a must if Nigeria must move forward.”

According to him, restructuring is reorganization of the country not disintegration as many have perceived, adding, “This is what we want and the earlier the restructuring the better.”

He called on Federal Government not to throw away the idea of restructuring as he described it as a tool to remodel the political and economic structure of Nigeria.

Speaking on the books, “Iba Gani Adams: Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland” and the second one ‘Iba Gani Adams: Voice of media, voice of people”, Adams noted that the books would educate many people who did not know much about the traditional title.

Adams disclosed that that he would install 21 prominent Yoruba sons and daughters as Aare Kakanfo in Council on Saturday.

According to him, these new council members will among other things work to promote the Yoruba culture and also protect the interest of the race in the country.

The books were published by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Council.
