Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, his erstwhile vice Atiku Abubakar and President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki held a closed-door meeting in Lagos on Sunday.

A source disclosed that the main agenda of the meeting was the appointment of Mrs. Amina Zakari as the Head of Elections Collation Centre by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party had alleged that Zakari was President Muhammadu Buhari’s niece and should not have been appointed to such position.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmud Yakub had denied the allegation, adding that there was no department as Election Collation Centre and that Zakari was not related to Buhari.

At the meeting with Obasanjo on Sunday, the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku and the Director General of the PDP presidential Campaign Organisation, Saraki tabled the Zakari’s matter.

The source revealed that the PDP bigwigs presented evidences at the meeting that Zakari actually related to Buhari and should be removed from the position.

But INEC had refuted the claim that Zakari would be heading any collation centre but that she was appointed into a committee that deals with logistics and welfare.

The PDP chieftains at the party said that they would present the Zakari’s case to the United Nations and the Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar’s National Peace Committee.
