Hundreds of workers of the National Assembly have shut down the entrance into both chambers (Senate and House of Representatives) demanding immediate payment of their allowances.

The protesting workers under the aegis of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN are worried that their benefits which they say was captured in the 2018 budget has still not been paid to them.

The aggrieved parliamentary workers who carried placards with various inscriptions: lamenting their condition of service and demanding the sack of the clerk of the National Assembly, Mohammed Sanni -Omolori, who they accused of feeding fat on their benefits, marched round the foyer of the National Assembly, vowing to stop lawmakers from gaining entrance into the chambers for the days business.
