The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu has said that the anti-graft agency could not investigate the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje and former Governor of Lagos State because it has not received any petition against them from anybody.

A video of Ganduje is in circulation in which he was alleged to have received bribe from a contractor but the EFCC boss said that he would not begin to act on the video even though the agency had intelligence.

Magu who was answering a question from a journalist while giving accounts of his three-year stewardship at the EFCC advised the reporter to file a petition against the two personalities and wait if he would not act.

The journalist had asked why Magu was refusing to answer questions on the video which allegedly captured the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, receiving bribes from contractors.

He also asked why the EFCC could not investigate Tinubu’s source of wealth since the former Lagos governor had claimed in another video that he is wealthier than Osun State Government.

In his response, Magu said, “You know what? If you are really interested, write a petition and see whether I won’t act. Go and write a petition and substantiate in the petition and find out if I won’t act. It is not for us to listen to people on radio and begin to act. Yes, we have intelligence but the surest way to get action is to go and write a petition and substantiate the contents of the petition and see whether I will not act.”
