and Government to the family of the Late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola and
other key actors of the June twelve struggle.

President Buhari spoke at the investiture ceremony conferring special national honours on the late MKO Abiola, his running mate Babagana Kingibe and the
late Gani Fawehinmi.

He said the awards were not aimed at opening old wounds but were an attempt by government to right the wrongs of the past.

The President who invited Nigerians from all ethnic divides to accept the
awards in good faith, stressed that citizens would no longer tolerate such
perversion of justice as represented by the annulment of the Presidential elections in nineteen ninety three.
