Senate has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to announce the results of the 1993 Presidential Elections widely believed to have been won by Moshood Abiola.

This was part of the resolutions reached in plenary on Thursday, following a debate on a motion by Senator representing Ekiti South, Biodun Olujimi.

In her presentation, Senator Olujimi hoped that President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration of June 12 as democracy day as against May 29 was done in good fate and not political.

In his contribution, Lanre Tejuosho, urged the executive and the legislature to use this opportunity to strengthen their relationship.

The Senate also resolved that May 29 remains inauguration of the President and that all entitlements and allowances be paid to the families of late Abiola and Babagana Kingibe.
