Lagos Human Rights Lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana has berated the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris for declaring wanted Prince Kazeem Afegbua, the spokesman for former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.
In a statement made available by Falana, on Tuesday in Lagos, the lawyer advised the IGP to withdraw the offensive declaration without further delay.
The IGP declared Afegbua wanted on Monday, following a controversial statement he released on behalf of Babangida.
Falana said Idris has “over reached” himself by declaring Afegbua wanted when he has not failed to honour the police invitation.
“It is undoubtedly that it is the Inspector General of police who has defamed Mr. Afegbua by portraying him as a fugitive from the law. Therefore, Mr. Idris is advised to withdraw the offensive declaration without any further delay,” Falana stated.
