The Senate has expressed worry over moves by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation to stop it from probing the scandalous reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina into the civil service.

Maina, the erstwhile Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform but was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over alleged frauds.

The Chairman of the senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Aliyu Sabi-Abdullahi said in a statement on Tuesday that the minister had been approaching courts to stop the ongoing probe in which he was involved.

According to the statement, it is surprising that the AGF, who has utilised the ample opportunity given to him by both chambers of the National Assembly to state his case on the Maina issue, is now the one going to court to stop the legislature’s probe.
