Former Vice President Abubakar Atiku has said that he will be contesting for the presidential position in the 2019 election so as to create jobs for the teeming jobless population of youths in the country.

He said this after he formally defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party through Facebook broadcast on Sunday.

He said that the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had failed the country and that over three million youths had lost their jobs in the last two years of the government.

Atiku stated that he knew how to created jobs and that he would replicate what he had done in his home state of Adamawa where he created 50, 000 direct jobs and about 250, 000 jobs at the Federal level.
